Players Plus Points:

Lots of players plus points is not a true indication of playing ability. However, it's probably a good indicator of how few girlfriends (or boyfriends) that individual has had; that is -- the more points the less girlfriends.

Repeat Games and Questions:

Yes, occasionally there are repeated games and questions. People who play a lot will enjoy a certain advantage. If you see more than one perfect score on the top 20 list, more than likely it was a repeat game. The hour-long games are never repeated, unless the location has a malfunctioning computer. When the satellite used by NTN ceased to function (remember the one which a lot of beepers used) all games were repeats for a couple weeks. Anyway, I've recognized repeat games from years back. That doesn't necessarily mean you will do better. Often you will repeat the same mistakes you made the first time you saw the game.

Comments:

If you're not playing some people would prefer you not yell out the answers. I don't really care. If you have people yelling the answers, then players with the better playmaker technique will tend to do better.

Some people yell out the wrong answer on purpose.

Some people take this game too seriously.

NTN is never wrong (meaning - no matter how much you moan and groan about a question, your points will never change).

If you're a man and the topic is ballet, don't get on the national top 20 board.

If you are unsatisfied with the game, then "ask for a refund." (THEO's favorite line)
