Game Formats:There are several different formats to the game, all regularly scheduled. Every weeknight there is an hour-long game usually at 6:00pm (PST). You can see NTN's brief description all the game formats here. Here is a one question example of a typical Countdown style game question. The standard half-hour games feature general trivia in three rounds of five questions. Games normally start about a minute past the hour or half hour. There is about a two minute break between each round, and about a 5-7 minute break between games. Premium Games (1 Hour)
* Does not include polling rounds Standard Games: (30 Minutes)
**Thanks to DEWEY for the info on Sports Trivia, Triviaoke and Jukebox Top Ten Lists:Local Top Ten Lists: for all game formats, the game computer keeps and displays a local top ten list after each game. Only the first place score for each game is eligible to make a top ten list. So an excellent second place score will not be included in the top ten even if it is high enough to make the list. Daily game top-ten scores get reset every month. Hour-long and specialty games (played once or twice-per-week) are perpetual and recycled on an annual basis. That is - a score will be dropped from the list after one year. On special games, like holiday trivia or sponsored games, the scores (if good enough) are included with the Countdown top ten list. National/Regional Top 20 lists: After all games, the game will display top 20 lists for locations and individuals. Location scores are determined by the average of the five best scores at each location. Your national ranking will be displayed next to your final score after the top twenty lists and the local top ten list. If you have a real good score, you can make the national top twenty list. Sometimes you could make the top-twenty list but your final ranking will show a different number. The top-twenty list only accepts one score from each establishment. So you could be number two on the top twenty list but actually be ranked less because the establishment with the number one score had more than one player with a better score than yours. |
